Centre for Integrated Healthcare Research

Welcome
The Centre for Integrated Healthcare Research (CIHR) is a collaborative
project, bringing healthcare specialists from Queen
Margaret University, Edinburgh Napier
University and the University
of Edinburgh, to work in partnership with NHS
Lothian, NHS Borders
and NHS Lanarkshire.
Funded by a £2.45 million grant, the Centre will help to
improve the health of the people of Scotland as well as leading
the way in Europe for healthcare research.
Specifically working in the areas of nursing, midwifery and the
allied health professions (physiotherapy, radiography, podiatry,
dietetics, art therapy and occupational therapy, speech therapy
and nutrition) the new CIHR will fill a major gap in Scotland's
health research. This substantial funding is a major coup for Scotland
as it is the largest research investment for these professions in
the UK.
